Things to do in Toronto

Toronto was designated as the most cosmopolitan city in the world by the United Nations. In the Huron language: Toronto means "Meeting Place", a perfect name for Canada's number-one visitor destination. Our city has world-class cultural and educational facilities, and a very efficient public transit system. We host the world's largest caribbean festival, and the biggest "Country Fair". Only London and New York sell more theatre seats. The Toronto International Film Festival is second to Cannes. Imagine!!!

    Expenses

You should allow for weekly expenditures of at least $100.00 CDN. This includes an extra meal and the cost of transportation. Light snacks and refreshments, such as sandwiches and soft drinks, can be obtained from many cafeterias near the school.

    Foreign Currency

American dollars are widely accepted in Canada, but often at less favorable rates of exchange. Students are advised to arrive in Canada with Canadian dollar traveller's cheques, a Credit card (Mastercard, Visa, American Express) or cash. Bank drafts often have to be sent on collection and, in some cases, it may take weeks to clear the funds. Other foreign currencies can be exchanged at some of the larger banks in Toronto and at the airport.
